ABOUT THE FIRM:
The law firm of COLEMAN, MERRITT, MURPHY & RAINSFORD, P.C., has historically represented individuals in Orange and Chatham Counties, and in the Research Triangle Park and across the state in a variety of practice areas.
Since its inception, the law firm has had a constant significant presence in the Hillsborough community and remains to this day an active supporter of local town and county functions.
Throughout its history, the firm has employed more than 30 attorneys some of whom were or are significant figures in the local legal community. The firm has been noted for Judge Alonzo “Lonnie” Coleman, Jr.’s service in the North Carolina Senate from 1972 to 1974 and his service as a district court judge from 1996 to 2009. Additionally, James C. Stanford served as the Orange County Clerk of Superior Court from 2001 until 2018 and continues to serve the local community from our office.
While Coleman, Merritt, Murphy & Rainsford, P.C. traces its roots back to 1969, it has transitioned over the decades to become the stellar team it is today.
